Butadiene Rubbers (BRs) and Styrene Butadiene Rubbers (SBRs) are the 2 biggest synthetic rubber used globally with key applications in the tire applications. ARLANXEO is the no 1 synthetic rubber supplier with total capacities of >1mio kt in strategic locations globally. BRs and SBRs contribute 65% of the total sales volumes(2019) and 43% of total variable margins(2019) for the TSR segment which amounts to 602kt and 312mio USD respectively


As the leading NdBR and LiBR supplier globally, ARLANXEO is constantly competing to defend our key positions and margins. For ESBRs and SSBRs, due to cost and technology, a different set of objectives and plans have to be implemented to maximise our business in this segment. There are also 7 production sites globally that are located in diverse regions to strategically cater to regional and global customers with different cost dynamics. As a result, majority of the contracts/agreements are negotiated on a yearly basis with different approaches depending on region, line product objectives and price/cost structure (e.g. raw material plus fee in NORAM,LATAM, EMEA vs Spot Business in APAC) , it is critical for global to be able to collate and analyse the various information to effect impactful discussions with region and drive global strategy.


Our utilization and margins globally are also in constant pressure over the last few years due to over-supply in markets, a weak economic environment and an uncompetitive raw material position.  Hence it is important for global to provide timely updates to the various regions and provide guidance to drive change of regional strategies when needed and implementation for alignment to optimize profitability.


He/she should also play an instrumental role in the agreements and negotiation process. The role is critical in the harmonization of regional data/information into global strategy to drive ARLANXEO’s growth, profitability objectives and long term goal towards being a leader for all key product segments.



Support global marketing manager in developing short & long term strategy in line with company’s vision and targets . Play a key role in the execution of such a product strategy with global and regional stakeholders.

Closely monitor the trends in BR/SBR product family, competitor activities etc together with market intelligence team.

Keep track of all key raw material movements in collaboration with procurement . Prepare & communicate monthly pricing strategy for BR,SBR product family to various regions based on the targeted profitability and market dynamics.

Work closely with the regions ( including sales/marketing coordinators) to address specific customers topics linked to pricing , volumes , portfolio , allocation etc as appropriate. Support regional sales directors in global negotiations by way of giving relevant marketing inputs.

Support global marketing manager & business director in all strategic projects by way of data analysis, preparation of business scenarios etc

Assist business director in KPI monitoring & preparation of performance dialog with the regions

Participate in monthly IBP meetings and work on the agreed relevant marketing action plans.
