Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints and electrical code specifications.
  • Installing, examining, replacing or repairing electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, case assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Testing electrical and electronic equipment and components.
  • Troubleshooting and solving problems during a working day.
  • Maintaining, repairing, installing and testing electrical motors, generators, industrial storage batteries and various electrical control systems.
  • Maintaining, repairing, installing and testing switchgears, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
  • Inspecting and testing the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using testing devices.
  • Writing maintenance reports.
  • Repairing and adjusting system components or removing and replacing defective parts.
  • Calibrating components and instruments.
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance work.
  • Installing control and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment.
  • Observing safety in accordance with Government and Company standards.
  • Working independently and sometimes with others to solve problems.

Education & Qualifications:

Completion of OSSGD.

Completion of apprenticeship courses to meet requirements of C of Q requirements.

For CST (Electrical) must hold valid C of Q 309A - Certified Construction and Maintenance Electrician or valid C of Q 442A – Industrial Electrician with relevant plant experience.

For CST (Instrumentation) must hold valid C of Q 447A – Instrumentation & Controls Technician.

Preference will be given to suitable candidates with valid C of Q in both Electrical and Instrumentation trades.

 

Other competencies, Skills and Requirements

High Voltage experience is essential

Master’s Electrician License is an asset

Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial, preferably petrochemical environment

Working knowledge of SAP and associated computer systems to locate materials and information relevant to the job.

Starting Hourly rate:  $54.25
