For our Global supply chain planning department we are currently looking for a:  


Supply Chain Planning Lead Butyl Rubber

(full time, based in Geleen, the Netherlands)


The position:

As a Supply Chain Lead Butyl Rubber, you are responsible for establishing the most profitable E2E Supply Chain response to the Commercial demand signal, provided by the IBP unconstrained demand plan. This includes optimizing all aspects of production, procurement, logistics and multi-echelon inventory planning on a global basis. Leading a small team of regional SC planners (2) and analysts (2), you are the principal global point of contact to the demand manager, manufacturing and procurement teams for all supply chain and RM planning related issues. You

  • collaborate with the Manufacturing organization to establish detailed capacity and capability parameters and assumptions to be used for Supply Chain Planning.
  • agree on service level requirements with commercial. Challenge the demand plan and strive to achieve consensus for agreed supply plan.
  • assess whether the supply chain can respond to current and future demand requirements and decide the global network plan that will be used to make the products requested.
  • are responsible for the development of a Master Supply Plan, Detailed Supply Plan and Materials Requirement Plan (incl. nomination of Strategic Raw Materials) and develop mitigation plans / what-if scenarios
  • ensure business continuity through supply chain risk assessments across the regions, and owning delivery of action plans to mitigate identified risks
  • conduct supply reviews as agreed with all sites/regions as per agreed IBP calendar.
  • lead/participate in Supply Chain excellence projects/initiatives touching the respective product SCP domain.
  • formulate/participate in Supply Chain strategy setting from an E2E SCP perspective for respective product segment.
  • collaborate with Innovation and Product Management teams on portfolio management decisions/processes.


Your profile:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in commercial and / or technical field
  • Affinity to manufacturing
  • 10 years of experience in demand and supply chain in a global business-to-business organization with state-of-the-art process and tools in supply chain management
  • Strong conceptual and analytical mind, good understanding of business processes
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization at the appropriate level of detail and complexity.
  • Able to take a stand and be the voice of the supply chain organization Indirect influencing skills
  • Advanced software skills
  • Result oriented, ability to work under pressure and flexible
  • Fluent in English (oral and written), additional linguistic capability is a plus
