ARLANXEO has a new career opportunity available for a Senior Income Tax Analyst at our Pittsburgh Corporate office. 

 

As a Senior Income Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for income tax compliance as well as preparation of the current and deferred components of the Federal Tax Provision, Uncertain Tax Positions, and IRS and state audits. The position will ensure adherence to adopted protocols, well documented internal control environment, effective utilization of internal/external resources and systems, diligence about meeting deadlines and ability to address complex tax topics in a fast-paced environment.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Prepare and file all complex federal and state income tax returns, book to tax adjustments, calculations, workpapers, attachments and disclosures
  • Manage calculations and compliance filings for franchise tax and commercial activity tax (CAT)
  • Manage the recordkeeping and analysis of fixed assets for federal and state income tax purposes including the analysis and calculation of depreciation, amortization and gain/loss on disposition
  • Assist with income tax audits, notices, and related matters, including the drafting of correspondence to taxing authorities and dispute resolution of audit issues
  • Gather data and prepare calculations for monthly income tax provisions in accordance with International accounting Standard (IAS) 12
  • Properly account for current and deferred tax activity, effective tax rates, journal entries, state tax implications and all other workflows impacting the monthly tax provision
  • Perform calculations and prepare related work papers and journal entries for annual return-to-provision (RTP) true-up project
  • Provide analysis of all tax reporting in BPC system and properly validate various BPC reports with non-system Aramco Tax Sheets and other ad-hoc schedules
  • Prepare detailed tax account reconciliations to validate monthly balances, activity and exceptions
  • Research current and proposed tax laws to ensure compliance and to assess the impact on the company
  • Identify and assist with implementation of tax planning opportunities, process efficiencies, quality improvements, and risk minimization strategies
  • Prepare international tax filings including Forms 5472 (foreign affiliate transactions), FBAR (foreign bank accounts), Form 1042 (foreign withholding) and Form 8991 (BEAT)
  • Maintain OneSource Income Tax (OIT) tax preparation software including the tax configuration of the Book Trial Balance, federal and state tax adjustments, state apportionment and all other items
  • Maintain OneSource Tax Provision (OTP) software through configuration and monitoring of all data mapped within the system and key outputs and reports
  • Administer all aspects of Bloomberg BNA Fixed Assets software including validation of proper settings for asset classes, MACRS lives assignments and federal and state depreciation settings
  • Manage Superfund Excise Tax calculations and compliance
  • Administration of contracts and setup of purchase requisitions for external tax service providers
  • Serve in supplemental support role and provide backup for Indirect Tax Analyst through exposure to sales and use tax issues, personal property tax, Form 1099 issues and any other pertinent areas

 

In order to accomplish this, you will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other financial discipline
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MS) and/or professional designation (CPA, EA, etc.) preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • One Source and SAP experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience dealing with compliance and tax accounting issues of a global organization
  • Demonstrated understanding of tax principles, practices and concepts and their applications
  • Ability to research complex tax issues, including the Internal Revenue Code and its Regulations, state and federal case law, and IRS pronouncements and procedures
  • Experience working in a manufacturing company and a publicly traded company preferred
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively and constructively in a team environment
  • Excellent knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets and/or word processing required
