You will develop, improve and establish electrochemical procedures and analyses and transfer the results into the development process of new polymers.


Your Challenge:

  • Support of the development work of new polymers for applications in the battery area
  • You will evaluate and identify new polymers for current and upcoming battery systems
  • You will transfer your experience in the construction of battery cells, and test new active materials in interaction with various polymers in battery cells
  • You will expand existing tests and procedures for setting up battery cells
  • To compare the properties of battery components, you will develop test procedures and generate test programs
  • Your area of responsibility includes evaluation of the analytical and electrochemical methods used, as well as the documentation and presentation of your research results.
  • An important component of your work is intensive collaboration with internal partners from R&D, TSAD as well as external development partners.
  • International research cooperation supervision.
  • In your daily work, you enjoy using creativity and initiative, see yourself as a team player, and are characterised by strong cooperation and communication skills
  • Ensuring IP protection for developed results
  • Continuous observation and evaluation of external and internal information on the generation of new projects


Your profile:

  • A graduate, having studied chemistry, physics, materials science, or a comparable direction of studies, with very good knowledge in the field of electrochemistry
  • Knowledge of polymer chemistry and solid state chemistry is desirable
  •  Experience in setting up battery cells and their manufacturing procedures
  • Use of various active materials in cell construction
  • Characterisation and improvement of battery components and cells using electrochemical measurement methods, and analytical methods using chemical and materials scientific knowledge
  • Measurement and analysis of typical cell tests such as cyclic voltammetry, porosity measurements, impedance spectroscopy, adhesion force measurements, lifetime tests, or C-rates tests
  • Independent and problem-solving-oriented working method
  • Flexible and team-oriented working methods in an international environment
  • Very good written and spoken German and English knowledge
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
