The role of Global Project Manager Digital Manufacturing Systems is to lead, oversee and ensure successful delivery and management of single or multiple projects within the Manufacturing and IT/OT Area. The Project manager must do this within scope, to a certain quality, and within the time and cost constraints. These factors must be clearly defined or may require dynamic change management to deliver business value. The main domain of activities of the Project Manager in the Manufacturing Systems domain are implementation and worldwide deployment of core Manufacturing / OT / Digital applications such are applications for Production and Quality Management, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Workforce management, Plant Maintenance, Asset Performance Management etc. The role is reporting to Head of Manufacturing Systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Global Project Manager Digital Manufacturing Systems, will be responsible for implementation and deployment of the validated global Manufacturing Applications, including the implementation of the defined related cybersecurity controls and projects
  • He’s as well responsible to coordinate the implementation of the standardized global Manufacturing Systems & Applications in each ARL Production Plant, Lab & R&D center, ensuring the integration to the Corporate IT/OT Application Framework
  • She/he is responsible for implementing the Digital Manufacturing Roadmap and related sub-projects and measures within the domain
  • Review project proposals or plans to determine a time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and the assignment of available departmental resources to various project phases
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks
  • End-to-end responsibility for MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) projects from project planning and resource allocation to on-time delivery within budget with high satisfaction of key stakeholders
  • Responsible for risk management, reporting and communication with steering committee
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle and confer with project staff to outline a work plan
  • Act as a coach to junior project managers, executives and others who need assistance and advice regarding project management practices
  • Create status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required
  • Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation
  • Acting as the link between assigned program resources and key stockholders
  • Ensuring project closure including completion of lessons learned and required documentation
  • Use disciplined project management methodologies to define scope, develop project plan and execute projects that adhere to guidelines and deliver within schedule
  • Responsible for tracking program/project status and managing program/project issues and risk
  • Monitoring program/ project on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress/quality managing issue resolution
  • Develop robust program/project risk management plans to ensure timely delivery, testing and completion of project with no impact to business continuity
  • Benchmark project management performance continuously to identify the potential for Establish a work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel
  • Analyze project proposals to determine a time frame, funding limitations and appropriate processes for accomplishing projects
  • Review/approve the work plan of an external service provider or consultancy contracted to execute the project
  • Implement a project communication plan
  • Conduct risk assessment and mitigation
  • Monitor project activities, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of information, while providing consistency in content and “look and feel” across the organization
  • Ensure that project goals are in line with business objectives
  • Ensure that project goals are achieved
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to project personnel and define the scope of their authority
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget
  • Review improvements and increase capability in project and portfolio management

The key areas of Global Project Manager Digital Manufacturing Systems definition are:


(1) Core Manufacturing Applications – MES, LIMS, Shift Log, Plant Maintenance applications, Asset Performance Management, Digital Twins, Work Permit Solution, Digital MOC, Engineering Systems
(2) Asset & Configuration Management for Manufacturing Systems
(3) Identity and Access Management in the Manufacturing area
(4) Integration between SAP and Shop-Floor Area using different technologies
(5) Different local Manufacturing applications (related to local plants)
(6) Stakeholder Management within Manufacturing Function across Organization
(7) Works with global (internal / external) teams

 

Your Requirements:

 

Education / Qualification:

 

(1) Bachelor’s degree in IT, OT or related fields or equivalent
(2) Experience in project management within the SAP and MES area,
(3) Experience in SAP PP/QM and PM/PS domains
(4) Experience with major Digital Manufacturing applications in Chemicals and/or Oil & Gas Industries


Experience needed:

 

(1) At least 10 or more years of progressively IT experience with proven knowledge in a structure with IT and OT environment, managing corporate OT and Digital Applications projects.
(2) Sound experience on managing Plant Maintenance and other Production and Quality Modules of SAP
(3) At least 7 years of successfully managing complex and risky projects
(4) Practical experience implementing global and standardized systems within Manufacturing area
(5) experience in building and managing global or multi-site Manufacturing applications & Systems

(6) Proven knowledge and experience with major OT / manufacturing technologies like AVEVA, Aspentech, GE, Schneider Electric, Siemens and others

 

Language:

(1) English proficiency needed
Other ARLANXEO languages would be an asset (German, French, Dutch, Chinese)

 

IT Knowledge:


(1) Must have an experience with SAP, MES and Manufacturing IT/OT systems, applications and services
(2) Distinctive blend of business, IT, financial and communication skills. This blend is vital because this is a highly visible position with substantial impact.
(3) Good understanding of current and emerging technologies, and of how other enterprises are using them to drive digital business.
(4) Knowledge of project management methodology and experience or familiarity with major, defined program management approaches (for example, PMI and agile approaches).
(5) Significant knowledge of project planning/scheduling tools (for example, Microsoft Project and Open Workbench), with a solid track record of practical application.
(6) Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations.
(7) Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment in which this role may not directly control resources.
(8) Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
(9) Ability to support a tactical resource plan by mapping future demand to forecast project completions in the project portfolio.
(10) Practical experience with major Manufacturing systems like MES, LIMS, OSI PI / Historian, ShiftLog Systems, Plant maintenance Solutions etc.

(11) Proven knowledge of SCADA technologies and other Human Machine Interfaces (HMI). Familiarity with fundamental network DNS, DHCP, etc,
(12) Knowledge of Integration Technologies like OData, Idoc, OPC UA and others.
(13) Application and operational service management experience in Manufacturing / OT Area
(14) Practical understanding of Critical services and international norms CEVESO II / III
